Fill containers to capacity. Partially full or bulging cartons may tip or collapse. Heavy items should be packed in small boxes so they ra eeasy to lift. Protect your fragil egoods with packing materials (I.e., bubble wrap, peanuts etc) and place them near the top of storage unit.

Pack storage unit carefully. Leave air space around the perimeter to aid ventilation. Place pellets on concrete floors and do not lean items against walls. Use all the space available including the height, place frequently used goods near the door.

Label boxes. Make a list of labeled boxes for easy reference.

Do not store food or other perishable items which could decay or attract insects or rodents. Also, do not store flammable or toxic items in your unit. Furniture should be clean.

Refrigerators or freezers should be cleaned and thoroughly dry and stored with it's doors slightly ajar. Some goods can be stored inside large appliances and boxes stacked on top.

Bicycles and other metal items should be wiped with a rag containing a few drops of machine oil to prevent rusting.

Books and documents should be packed flat in boxes. Do not place directly on concrete floor, but use pallets or skids to prevent moisture damage.

Make sure you have secured the lock on your unit before leaving. Keep key in a safe place.
